Insight and Pro Scan already provide insight into the sources in your analysis. These scan results are part of the available offerings.

• Insight shows sources that appear in the ChatGPT answers examined.
• In the Pro report, you can review individual questions, answers and their sources and reopen cited URLs.
• The sources in a scan describe the answers examined. They do not automatically include every website a model may have considered.

Sources is intended to examine cited websites in greater detail. The following overview describes the planned focus of the application.

• The plan is to make source types and topic coverage comparable across product pages, documentation, specialist publications and comparison sites.
• The planned examination of information structure and trust signals is intended to help identify recurring characteristics of relevant source pages.
• These observations are intended to guide the review and further development of your own content.

You can examine cited pages yourself even before Sources launches. Assess the quality of the information in the context of each question.

• Is it clear who is responsible for the content and when relevant information was last updated?
• Are product claims supported by documentation, specific examples or verifiable evidence?
• Does the page answer the question clearly and precisely? Does it explain prerequisites, limitations and terminology?

A visible source reference shows a connection to a specific answer. When assessing your content, what matters is what you can actually observe and verify.

• A frequently cited website alone does not establish a general ranking factor or explain why a source was selected.
• A cited statement may be incomplete, outdated or irrelevant. Check the original source and how it relates to the answer.
• Better content can improve the information available. It cannot guarantee a particular citation frequency or a future AI recommendation.
